Guardians of the Mountain is the flagship edition of a growing docu-series by Storyboard Media that explores Africa's conservation champions, agribusiness pioneers, and community guardians.

We begin on the slopes of Mount Elgon, but our journey is broader—this is about honoring grassroots changemakers across diverse ecosystems, and sparking global attention for local brilliance.

Each series season is embedded within a region, uncovering voices that speak for the land, the future, and our shared responsibilities. This is not just documentary work—it's transformational storytelling.

Each edition of the Guardians series features unsung heroes—environmental stewards, farmers, elders, youth advocates, and more. We listen, observe, and pass the mic.

The Journey

The first edition: 7 Days Across Mt. Elgon. Each stop becomes a short doc, a set of reels, and a deeper narrative thread.

Day 1 – Cheptais: Roots of the Forest

Exploring the ancient forests and meeting the communities who have protected them for generations.

Day 2 – Kaberua: Indigenous Knowledge & Conservation

Documenting traditional ecological knowledge and its role in modern conservation efforts.

Day 3 – Kapkateny: Farming on the Edge

Meeting farmers innovating sustainable agriculture on the mountain's challenging terrain.

Day 4 – Endebess: Human-Wildlife Conflict

Examining the delicate balance between communities and wildlife in buffer zones.

Day 5 – Chorlim Gate: Park Rangers & Climate Resilience

Following rangers on patrol and documenting climate change impacts on the ecosystem.

Day 6 – Kapsokwony: Young Voices of Change

Highlighting youth-led initiatives in conservation and community development.

Day 7 – Kimilili: Cultural Legacy & Creative Youth

Celebrating cultural heritage and how young people are reinventing traditions.
